Blade: The blade is fully hand-made in the most traditional Japanese craftsmanship way. It is fully hand-forged, hand-polished and hand-sharpened by our experienced smith. The blade was made of T10 high carbon steel, and it has been laminated in a Maru structure with a clay temper line.

This blade has a shape in "Unokubi-Zukuri" style. There is one big Hi (blood groove) on each side which is from Habaki to the middle of the blade, the thickness on the back becomes thinner from the half of the blade towards the tip, but the back turns to thick near the KISSAKI (tip). This not only allows for a lighter blade and audible feedback when swung,but also can balance the blade to achieve optimal performance. A special clay is applied to the blade by hand, using a thin covering near the edge and a thicker layer over the rest of the blade. This results in a relatively quicker cooling of the edge during quenching, producing a harder edge and softer back.The beautiful real hamon is also a result of the differential cooling of the blade (quenching and tempering).

The tip of the blade is a O- Kissaki (medium length), it is well defined with the hamon going all the way through the Bo-hi.The blade is in full-tang which greatly enhances the strength of the whole sword. The blade is strong enough to cut a thick bamboo tree and sharp enough to slice paper.

Tsuba: This tsuba (guard) of the sword is made of High Quatily Brass with two Seppas spacer securing it. The Habaki (blade collar) is of brass composition.

Tsuka: This Tsuka is wooden one wrapped with genuine ray skin, and tied with real silk ITO in the traditional wrap. The Fuchi (sleeve) and Kashira (buttcap) on the tsuka are made of High Quality Brass with matching Menuki on each side as an ornament, two Mekugi (peg) are nailed to secure the Tang of the sword. (Sword can be disassembled by picking up the two Mekusgi (peg).)

Saya: This Saya(sheath) of the sword is Rosewood. The Sage-O is tied around the Kurikaka (knob) (which is OX horn) of the saya, the Koiguchi (scabbard mouth) (OX horn also) and Kojiri (scabbard tip) (made of OX horn) has been hardened.

Sword Function
This sword is made of high quality T10 carbon steel with magnificent craftsmanship of clay tempering, which cast hardness of the blade in a large degree. This sword is fully battle ready and fully functional. The sword can be as hard as to cut the hard thing like: cut the meat with bones, paint bucket and straw mat; can be as sharp as to slice paper. This is a functional sword which can be used for the real battle, and also an absolutely necessary as one of the collections or display for its special clay tempering and exquisite craftsmanship of forging process.
